On 26 March 2024, the Philippine Embassy in Spain welcomes the official visit of the San Carlos City Government delegation composed of Congressman Gerardo Valmayor, Mayor Rene Gustilo, Vice Mayor Christopher Carmona, members of the Board of Councilors and the San Carlos Development Board, who visited Madrid to do a study tour on the best practices of the capital city of Spain and learn from Madrid´s successful implementation of its sports tourism programs in order to apply it to San Carlos´s development plans.
The delegation paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier at the Philippine Embassy in Spain and also met with officials of the Office of Culture, Tourism and Sports and the General Coordination officials of the Madrid Mayor´s Office.
San Carlos City officials have also met with the Directorate General for Water of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge to discuss good management of watershed programs and also had a chance to meet with members of the business community during an economic forum organized by the Philippine Embassy together with the Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE), an umbrella organization of private business entities and entrepreneurs in Spain.
